Finding, following, and surrendering to the flow

I have been learning so much this year about eCommerce by launching our full service, eCommerce website, www.milk-and-honey.com.  For instance, I learned that in the world of eCommerce, 30.8 billion dollars was spent online in 2010, and the projections for 2011 are even higher.

In the past I have been very resistant to technology.  In fact, I spent 2 years living off the grid, and only by candlelight for 5 months out of every year.  Instead of having a TV or a computer, I filled pages and pages of journal after journal.  I didn't even get a cell phone until 2009!  I felt righteous in my resistance to technology for almost a decade.

At some point in my evolutionary path I began to realize that resistance takes energy.  While the global energy is moving in the direction that technology is taking us, I wondered how much energy I would free up inside myself if I surrendered to the change rather than resisted?  How could I maintain my connection to that which is sacred, while still being a part of the global change?

I am fortunate enough to own Milk & Honey, a business that is deeply rooted in sacred commerce with a strong philanthropy practice.  I feel so blessed for the opportunity to expand my own horizons as I introduce Milk & Honey to Facebook, Twitter and even YouTube.  I'm finding, following, and surrendering to the flow, and I must admit, it feels pretty darn good!  Because Milk & Honey provides intentional gifts that often have meaning from different cultures around the globe, it feels great to know that avenues such as sacred eCommerce and the world wide web are interconnecting us and moving us toward the global community that is often reflected in the intentional gifts we provide.

Gifts for the grieving

Today I am reminded of my sister, as it would have been her 45th birthday today.  She died suddenly and unexpectedly in 2009.  My grieving process was intense, as most everyone who has lost a family member understands.

Our brand new section: Women Loving Women

Hello beautiful people!

Today is National Coming Out Day and what better way to support our lesbian, bisexual and transwomen sisters than by creating a Women Loving Women section on our eCommerce website, www.milk-and-honey.com?

No matter what your walk in life is, we all know how validating and important it is to be seen and reflected with positivity and love.  So please, if you have a lesbian, bisexual, or transwoman friend, family member, or co-worker, especially those who may live in areas where it's hard, or even dangerous, to be free to be themselves, share our blog and our website with them so they can experience an entire section dedicated to celebrating who they are.

Our brand new Women Loving Women section has a sweet and humble start to it and we are proud to launch this new section on National Coming Out Day!  Right now we have beautiful earrings, sterling silver pendants, an amazing documentary on lesbian tantra, stimulating organic lubricants, and more!

Pregnant Mamas Unite!

Hello lovelies!

We are so happy to announce that Milk & Honey is now hosting Howling Moon Birth Arts, a gathering for pregnant mamas, every Friday night at 6:30pm.  Check out our Events page on our website, www.milk-and-honey.com, for the details.  Movement, art, and connection with other expecting mamas will be explored.  Drop ins welcomed!

Some of you may know that Milk & Honey owners, Alyssa & Candra, are expecting their 1st baby in January.  The road to conceive was a long one.  Many prayers were said, many rituals were performed, and many, many candles were burned-- in fact, at one point, they had 5 candles burning on their fertility altar at once!  Candra highly recommends the Goddess of Fertility and Abundance candle for those trying to conceive, while Alyssa's favorite was the Kuan Yin candle.  (Sufficient to say, it was a combination of those two candles burning on their altar!)  And regardless of which candle did the magic trick, they feel incredibly blessed to be pregnant and are more than happy to support other expecting mothers through this weekly gathering at Milk & Honey.

A little story about Alyx and how great gift certificates are!
